How You Can Help
Volunteer Assistance
Justiceworks seeks to engage community members in volunteer work to identify needs of the justice system, educate others about those needs, promote change in justice policies, deliver and coordinate community services to the justice system, and evaluate outcomes.
Through Justiceworks, we expect that volunteers will embody the restorative change they seek in the system. Please consider donating your time and talents by:
- Reading our website and requesting more information about the justice system
- Requesting pamphlets to share with interested friends and associates
- Requesting a Justiceworks speaker for your organization or faith-based group
- Joining the Community and Interfaith Coalition for Effective Justice Strategies as a representative from your faith-based group, company or organization.
- Serve as a volunteer to
- Staff the Family Law Information Center
- Facilitate victim-offender conferencing sessions
- Mentor in the Volunteers in Probation program
- Volunteer or participate in the Justiceworks fundraiser JustRun09 Half-Marathon and 5K Run/Walk
Please call the Justiceworks Office at 715.344.3677 today to arrange your volunteer opportunity.
Financial Assistance
Justiceworks has received grants from the State Bar of Wisconsin, the Community Foundation of Portage County, the U.S. Department of Justice, St. Bronislava Church, the Polish Legion of American Veterans, and the Wisconsin Humanities Board. Developing community involvement in the justice system requires substantial assistance and commitment. All members of the community benefit from restorative justice community initiatives. Restorative justice initiatives serve to address the needs of victims, offenders and the community, provide for the better utilization of justice system resources, and reduce recidivism rates among offenders. To join the effort, please consider making a donation by:
- To join the effort, please send your contribution to Justiceworks, Ltd. 1547 Strongs Avenue, Suite D, Stevens Point, WI 54481 including your name and contact information for acknowledgment of your tax-deductible contribution.
