About the Event
The Justiceworks Walk/Run will be held in conjunction with the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point (UWSP) Homecoming festivities and will take place Saturday, October 21, 2006. The start and finish line will be located at Colman Field on the UWSP campus.
Distances
Participants can choose to Run or Walk the 5 kilometers, equivalent to 3.1 miles or they can Run 10 kilometers, equivalent to 6.2 miles.
Packet Pick-Up
Check-in/Packet pickup and onsite registration will be available on Saturday, October 21, 2006 from 6:30am until 7:30am at Colman Field on the UWSP campus.
Race Start Location
UWSP Colman Field will be the location of the start of the event.
All events will start promptly at 8:00am. We ask that runners position themselves at the start line in the following order: 10K runners, 5K runners, and 5K walkers. No early starts allowed.
Award Categories
A $100 cash prize would be presented to the 1st place finishers for both overall open category and overall masters (40+) category for both male and female in both the 5K and 10K races. Cash prizes totaling $800 will be given away. Age group awards will also be given away in the following categories: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and 70& over. Walking is a non-competitive event. All walkers will be eligible to win exciting door prizes.
Finish Line Activities
Upon the completion of the entire competition an award ceremony will be held at Colman field. Door prizes for participants will also be drawn. All participants are invited to the All Campus Picnic for complimentary food, fun and refreshments. The All campus picnic will take place on the UWSP campus on the lawn of Old Main.

The competitive run is bib-timed. We DO NOT use chip-timing.

The Justiceworks 5K/10K Walk/Run benefits the Justiceworks program. Justiceworks, Ltd is a non-profit community justice organization, dedicated to advancing policies and practices of justice that create right relationships in the communities of Portage County Volunteer task forces of Justiceworks consider issues of mentoring, victim/offender conferencing, substance-free housing, and access to justice. Justiceworks has been supported by grants from the State Bar of Wisconsin, the Community Foundation, a congressional earmark award and the Wisconsin Humanities Board.
